At J9 Performance, we are strong proponents of strength training. Our programming primarily focuses on strongman and powerlifting exercises. However, we tailor all our programs to meet the specific needs and fitness levels of our clients.

Strength training is at the core of what we do, as we believe it to be the foundation of all physical qualities. When executed correctly, it can enhance mobility, boost athletic performance, reduce the risk of injuries, develop a robust and muscular physique, enhance self-confidence, contribute to mental well-being, and improve overall health.

While our primary emphasis is on increasing strength, we also recognize the significance of training various energy systems. This not only helps our clients become better athletes but also promotes overall health.


About me 

Hello, I'm James Sowrey, the Owner and Head Coach at J9 Performance.

At J9 Performance, our specialty lies in strength training. Our programs primarily focus on strongman and powerlifting training, with a keen emphasis on joint health and mobility.

Personally, I actively participate in strongman and powerlifting competitions, both locally and beyond. Additionally, I've had the privilege of being coached and mentored by some of the finest coaches in the UK. I believe this unique blend of practical experience and top-tier guidance equips me to provide the highest level of service to my clients.

We offer a range of coaching options, including in-person sessions at our private facility, remote online coaching, or a combination of both. This approach ensures that our clients receive the necessary guidance to master the technical aspects of lifting.
